Submission Guidelines

Brighid's Fire Books publishes hardcover and trade paperback genre and mainstream titles. As a recently launched independent small publisher, we publish only one or two titles per year.

At this time, we accept manuscript submissions solely through the Brighid's Fire Books/LughnassadhBooks.com Annual Fiction Contest. All non-contest related queries and submissions will be ignored. See the contest web page for complete details.

Titles entered in the Brighid's Fire Books/LughnassadhBooks.com Annual Fiction Contest should be between 50,000 and 120,000 words in length. In no event will we consider any manuscript in excess of 150,000 words at this time. Manuscripts should be printed on 8-1/2 x 11 inch white paper; if we give you permission to submit an electronic version of your manuscript, we will accept files delivered by email in plain ASCII text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc), rich text (.rtf) or WordPerfect (.wpd) formats. Please scan before you send.

Standard manuscript format is required for either hard copy or electronic submissions. Where applicable, a self-addressed stamped envelope should be included if you wish to have your materials returned to you.

In the event that we make you a contract offer, royalties will be negotiated at percentage rates that are comparable to industry standard. Details will be made available at the time a contract is offered on a prospective manuscript.

Please do not submit entire manuscripts unless you have been invited to do so. Unsolicited manuscripts will be recycled or returned unread.
